The trend for lower profile ‘belly landing’ drones created opportunities to stow them in new locations on the vehicle. Patent coauthor Nelson had the brilliant idea to gaffer-tape a cardboard box to the underside of the moonroof and launch a drone out of it. At the time we were very interested in tethered drones.
